Apollo Classic Tobacco Review

Apollo Classic Tobacco E-Liquid

Its been a while since I reviewed an e-liquid – when I find something I like, I stick with it and Apollo’s Tobacco flavour has been doing it for me recently! That said I was curious about their “Classic Tobacco”, so picked up a 24mg, 30ml bottle to try (30ml was a bit adventurous – should have tried a 10ml sampler first). I also ordered a 30ml bottle of their regular “Tobacco” just in case I didn’t like it.

In direct comparison the two bottles couldn’t be more different. While the regular tobacco e-liquid had a familiar lemony shade the classic version was distinct – a vibrant, if not artificial pinkish orange. Unscrewing the childproof cap it was evident this was going to be a flavourful e-liquid. Apollo describes this as a classic full bodied American tobacco blend, but to my nose it has a soapiness to it with a touch of coffee and I didn’t get any tobacco nuances at all. When I think of classic American tobacco my mind conjures up Virginia’s and Burleys, rich earthy Kentucky tones, but not here.

Apollo Dual Coil Tank Review

With the latest developments in cartomizer and clearomizer technology, I have gradually weaned myself off direct atomizer dripping and moved into the tank scene! Dripping (as its known) is the old school approach  – “dripping” a few drops of eliquid directly into a waiting atomizer, rather than filling a tank. As a vaping purist, there really is no better way to experience e-liquid flavour. This method has its drawbacks. While it is fine lounging around in front of the TV, when out and about or driving its not so convenient.

Regular readers will recall that I generally use a couple of devices. Namely an Apollo Vtube and eGo topped with a CE4 – my go to clearomizer solution. I hadn’t really considered “proper” tank options as I was happy enough with the CE4’s. To cut a long story short, I decided to purchase a couple of Dual Coil Tank (DCT) cartomizers from Apollo just to see what they are like and these are my impressions.

Panda ecigs Joy eGo Kit Review

Panda ecigs Joy eGo Kit

Honestly, you really cannot go wrong with an eGo e-cigarette, especially when it is teamed up with a solid clearomizer. I’ve reviewed a similar product before, but not this particular kit which comes from Panda ecigs, USA.

As most eGo starter kits are very similar, choosing the right one usually boils down to two things. Price and what you get by way of extras!

Liberro Eskimo Review

Liberro Liquid Purity Eskimo E-Liquid

Liberro Liquid Purity Eskimo E-Liquid

When I used to smoke cigarettes I’d occasionally buy a pack of menthol cigarettes, not very often, just now and then. I can’t say they were a favourite, just a change from the bland smoky taste that most smokers experience after a while.

Anyway, I never really found the menthol flavour had the same sort of “hit” as a regular stick. Similarly, when I started vaping I never really got into menthol scene, so I thought it high time I tested out a bottle of Liberro’s Liquid Purity Eskimo e-liquid, to see if my tastes had changed over the years!

As with all Liberro’s Purity range they are made with pharmaceutical grade nicotine (barring the 0%/0mg, of course) and the finest flavourings, all manufactured here in the UK by Decadent Vapours exclusively for Liberro.

Liberro Key Lime Delight Review

A few years ago I was in the United States for the 4th of July celebrations. A true slice of Americana – a day long family barbeque and many desserts to choose from, plus of course, a beer or two (or three!). It was a typical Floridian day – hot and humid – so I delved into the cooling properties of Key Lime ice cream!

I haven’t had it since. So when a sample bottle of Liberro’s Key Lime Delight arrived I was keen to rekindle those memories.

Liberro Cafe Noir Review

As a traditional tobacco e-liquid vaper I’m not exactly renowned for experimenting with “exotic” flavours, apart from when I first started vaping back in 2008. Then I would try anything and everything. At one stage I even blended my own concoctions, mixing unflavoured 36mg nicotine juice, with supermarket food flavourings and added Glycerin BP from the local pharmacy.

Happy days or not?

I recall I had a few successes, but alas more failures! One blend I was quite fond of was my homemade “coffee”. A touch on the bland side it still ranked up there with my finest creations. As time went by I ditched my homemade brews and got stuck in a proverbial “tobacco” rut.

Today I’ll be sampling the delights of Liquid Purity available exclusively from Liberro, a name you can trust for quality (ISO9001 accredited) and customer service – I should know I’ve purchased quite a few liquids and e-cig bits from them since 2008 (back when they were known as e-cigs.co.uk).

I recently received six 10ml sample bottles (various flavours), all High, 1.8% nicotine (or 18mg in old money).

I’ll start off with an interesting take on a semi traditional tobacco flavour called Knightsbridge.

Apollo Tobacco Review

Apollo Tobacco E-Liquid

Apollo Tobacco E-Liquid
Apollo Tobacco E-Liquid

Personally speaking of all the Apollo tobacco flavour e-liquids I’ve tried recently its somewhat ironic that my favourite is the one left till last! And funnily enough its just the regular “Tobacco” at that.

All the juices reviewed so far have been 24mg (extra high) strength and no change here. It ticks all the boxes not too strong, nor too weak and the ideal choice for throat hit and average nicotine needs.

Opening up the childproof cap, the aroma is less striking than RY4 and definitely less pungent than Sahara. Its decidedly tobacco (sounds stupid I know considering it is tobacco flavour), but it really does have a whiff of fresh tobacco leaves. There is a sweet edge to it, but not overpowering from a scent perspective.

Visually, it has a lemony hue and is slightly thinner than both the RY4 and Sahara e-liquids. Again it’s a Propylene Glycol (PG) based juice with added Glycerin. Its very well suited for use in a clearomizer as thicker juices tend to restrict the internal wicks absorption rate. This juice seems to flow effortlessly and produces plenty of thick vapour as a result.

Apollo Sahara Review

Apollo Sahara E-Liquid

Apollo Sahara E-Liquid
Apollo Sahara E-Liquid

When I received a bottle of 24mg strength Sahara e-liquid from Apollo Ecigs the first thing that struck me was the colour. Its significantly darker than most tobacco juices – a deep earthy reddish orange. And even before I opened the childproof cap I could smell the contents quite easily. This is what I would describe as a “robust” e-liquid. It conjures up a middle eastern cafe – strong espresso and flavourful tobacco pipes. Its aptly named.

Prior to vaping I like to give new juices the “sniff” test (don’t we all?!). This is, as Apollo rightly describes it: “bold”. It has a hint of burnt caramel, somewhat spicy on the nose and characteristically cigar-like – more so than a regular tobacco e-liquid. Prior to testing I actually thought Sahara would be akin to Camel but it isn’t – there is no nuttiness whatsoever.

Apollo Superior eGo Kit Review

Apollo Superior eGo Kit

Apollo Superior Ego Kit
Apollo Superior Ego Kit – The CE4 adds a bit of additional height to the eGo (total length approx 144mm)

What can be said about the eGo e-cigarette that hasn’t been said before? When the eGo was launched it quickly revolutionized the vaping scene much in the same way as the 510 atomizer destroyed the good old 910. The eGo pretty much swept away all other conventional e-cig designs and still dominates the starter segment of the market. No wonder really – up till this point ecigs were unreliable, inconsistent and often frustrating.

This was the e-cigarette to be seen with. Its sleek lines, cool manual button and long life battery made it an overnight success perfectly at home in the hands of veterans and beginners alike. Its small dimensions meant you could slip it in a pocket, head out for the day with no worries. With the advent of cartomizers, tank systems and clearomizers things just kept getting better (no need to even carry a bottle of juice anymore).

Simply put… it just worked!
